Windows XP 搜尋功能故障點點通：四大常見錯誤與修復方案

故障 1：點工具列「搜尋」或按 F3 完全無反應。: 進 C:\Windows\inf（隱藏資料夾），右鍵 srchasst.inf 選「安裝」，提示插入 XP 光碟，重新安裝搜尋服務元件。此法亦可作為其他搜尋故障的最後手段。
故障 2：提示「A file that is required to run Search Companion cannot be found. You may need to run setup」。: 原因：C:\Windows\srchasst\mui\0409 下 BAR.XSL、BALLOON.XSL 等檔案損壞。先清空 IE 暫存檔，無效則安裝修補程式：
英文版 XP：Q319949_WXP_SP1_x86_ENU.exe（未裝 SP1 者先裝 SP1）。
故障 3：出現黃色驚嘆號三角形警告圖示。: 登錄檔兩處修正：
1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\{e17d4fc0-5564-11d1-83f2-00a0c90dc849} 右側「預設」值改為 Search Results Folder。
2. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Cabinet State 新增字串值 Search Asst = no。
故障 4：「開始」選單的「搜尋」項目消失。: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer 新增 DWORD NoFind = 00000000（十六進位）。
